Don’t you just love stumbling upon a great internet find unexpectedly? The only thing I love more is sharing my finds with you!
I was reading an article the other day about successful bloggers whose websites were made up of their own first name and last name (such as www.ChrisGuillebeau.com). I’d heard of most of them and already follow some of them, but one of the examples, a woman named Marie Forleo, was unknown to me.
I clicked through to check out her site, and I am SO glad I did – she is AWESOME! I powered through several of her posts, watched a ton of her videos, and signed up for her mailing list on the spot.
Marie describes herself as a multi-passionate entrepreneur – “part business strategist, part marketing maven and part spiritual ass-kicker, with a side of hip-hop swagger.” The company’s mission is “to help the world kick some major ass and have a damn good time along the way” and their vision is “a world where every human being has the financial and emotional freedom to live life to the fullest.”
How can you not get on board with all that?
Her posts are an enticing mix of writing and videos, and she covers topics ranging from productivity tips to how to shake off fear and self-doubt to increasing your customer base to spirituality.
Yeah – that last one seems like it doesn’t fit in, I know. But this is what Marie does so brilliantly – she injects her whole personality into everything she does – her dance background, her love of hip-hop, her quirky/silly sense of humor, and yes, even her spirituality – and this is what I love about her site.
She is a perfect example of someone finding success using the “youest you” concept – embracing who you are and sharing that with the world as the ultimate value you can give to others.
I highly recommend you check out her site, learn more about her company, and take a stroll (scroll?) through the archives. Her mix of writing and video is extremely effective in getting her messages across. You not only learn what she has to say, you get to know her as a person, and she is worth getting to know – sweet, funny, genuine, a straight-shooter, empathetic, intelligent, and fun.
So take a look, get some great advice, and see the success of the “youest you” concept in action – I guarantee you’ll be glad that you did. Enjoy!
